~ How Our Mission Is Supported ~

Our educational outreach and demonstrations are supported through community partnerships, including "Slight Of Harvest", a working homestead dedicated to sustainable living and teaching by example.

Volunteer Educator/Supporter

After many years of traveling across the country as a professional truck driver, Walt is now retired and enjoying the homestead lifestyle as the owner of "Slight Of Harvest." Through his experience, work ethic, and love for community, he also supports the mission of SOH8357 by offering his time, knowledge, and encouragement to help strengthen local outreach, gardening education, and community-based programs.

Walt brings a practical, hands-on perspective to the organization, with a heart for helping others learn, grow, and become more connected to the land their community. His support helps further the nonprofit's goal of cultivating hope through gardening, education, and service.

"I am thankful for the support of this young generation for supporting my nonprofit organization while following in the footsteps of their ancestors through homesteading and shared spaces, this support brings great joy to me as a man of 87 years... May the ancestors continue to guide their hands, hearts and minds with wisdom, helping them remain good stewards of the land once cared for by those who came before them while supporting my organizations mission."

Mr. Wilson, Air Force Vietnam War Veteran, Founder
