~ How Our Mission Is Supported ~

Our educational outreach and demonstrations are supported through community partnerships, including "Slight Of Harvest Homestead", a working homestead dedicated to sustainable living and teaching by example.

I enjoy the freedom to volunteer my knowledge from my homestead experience as a young girl over to my grandson but also to this excellent community garden and its food educators. Watching people learn, grow and build for themselves... and seeing the joy in the eyes of those less fortunate when they realize someone cares... has been one of the greatest joys of my life as a veteran.

After many years of traveling across the country and now being retired, I am able to not only enjoying the homestead lifestyle of my own but I find great fulfillment in having the time and freedom to offer my skills, knowledge, and experiences to nonprofit organizations within my community from firefighter to gardening. This allows me to continue making a meaningful impact on the live of others, drawing from the experience I have gained over the years.

Finding this nonprofit organization after separting from the military has been one of the best experiences of my life. Not only did i dedicate years to serving my country, but I am now able to continue that selfless service within woring my families homestead to become self sufficient one day on my own.

"I am thankful for the support of this young generation for supporting my nonprofit organization while following in the footsteps of their ancestors through homesteading and shared spaces, this support brings great joy to me as a man of 87 years... May the ancestors continue to guide their hands, hearts and minds with wisdom, helping them remain good stewards of the land once cared for by those who came before them while supporting my organizations mission."
